DESCRIPTION:This months presenter is\n\nCarol Alcorn with IV PADS\n\n \nCarol has been the Executive Director of the Illinois Valley PADS Homeless Shelter for the past 20 years.  She has facilitated the growth of the programs and services that more effectively assist the homeless population.  She has also increased the revenue sources that support the mission.  She has initiated policies and procedures to support the work of this important service to our region. Homeless families with children having the resources to help them overcome the issues causing homelessness has been a deep commitment and close to her heart. \n\nShe has served as a School Board member at Peru Elementary and LaSalle Peru THS bringing leadership to the education of our students.  She served 20 years on the Illinois Valley YMCA as well as 13 years on the Crime Stoppers Board\, and 2 years on the Illinois Valley PADS Board.  She has been very active in the past in her church and with her children and grandchildren.  For 43 years\, she has successfully owned a local business operating from her home providing upholstery services.
