Mary Michael Roth is our local VITAS Representative here in the Illinois Valley Region and has been a Hospice Advocate for over 6 years with VITAS Healthcare. In her role, Mary has become an invaluable resource for our healthcare professionals, including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Clinicians, patients, and families alike. Her dedication lies in educating about hospice criteria and ensuring that individuals receive not only quality of life but also the dignity they deserve as they approach the end of their journey.
Mary’s expertise extends to guiding providers, leaders, and the community on the resources that are available for patients and families through the complexities of accessing their Medicare hospice benefits, offering clarity on how, when, and why these benefits can be instrumental in enhancing their experience during this crucial time.
In addition to her professional achievements, Mary, alongside her beloved Flat Coat Retriever, Duke, actively participates in the Vitas Paw Pals program, providing comfort and companionship to hospice patients in our community.
