Ottawa, IL is home to The Lone Buffalo, our first restaurant and the home of our original craft brewery.

At Tangled Roots our mission is to provide a unique hospitality experience that combines authentic, local craft brewing with high quality cuisine. But while the quality is high, the vibe is distinctly down-to-earth and friendly – as befits our small-town roots.

Our goal is to make everyone feel welcome. Whether you're a proper connoisseur or just feeling hungry, and whether you're a seasoned cicerone, or totally new to the world of craft beer, we'll make sure you feel at home and find something that's right for you.

That's why our Brew Master pays as much attention to the lighter, fresher brews as he does to our award-winning IPAs and Imperial Stouts, making sure that we offer a wide range or tastes to appeal to everyone. And it's why our menus don't just contain adventurous culinary creations, but also familiar favorites – though all give a distinct 'chef twist'. Great food and great beer, in perfect harmony, all served with a friendly Midwest small town welcome.
